I'm a complete product junkie and I have always been in to makeup, but recently all my hoarding has been focused on hair products. So I thought it was time to start revamping my makeup collection slowly and surely. I say surely, but I got all of this over 2 days!
Below are my first impressions of the products and at the bottom I have included links, where I can find them of the products online. I got everything in River Island, Boots and Selfridges.
1. Lashes by Samantha - These lashes are so fluttery and natural looking for any occasion. I stumbled upon these in River Island and really liked that they didn't have a thick black strip like others do.
2. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Shade Spice - This foundation is so amazing! I mix mine with Loreal True Match Foundation to give it more of a dewy brown colour and I have had so many compliments since I have been wearing it. It was a great experience purchasing it also. I got mine from there kiosk in the Trafford Centre and had my colour matched.
3. Nyx Matte Finish Spray - This really does work considering how cheap it is! I have a really oily T zone and wanted to have a matte finish so I gave this a go with the finishing powder and it holds for hours. Working as a waitress it even holds during my shifts!
4. Nyx Liquid Suede - This is the best nude lipgloss I have used in a long time, if ever. It is notoriously difficult to find a nice matte lip gloss when you have darker skin so I took a chance on this and I love it. It goes on 'liquid' and dries matte. Separate review coming soon...
5. Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner - I don't really believe in spending a lot on a liquid eyeliner. This is because every time I have spent a little extra on one it seems to dry out, or get lost! So I am sticking to collection eyeliners. Once sprayed with the finishing powder it stays on all day and is super sleek and black, you wouldn't guess it was less than a fiver.
6. Nyx Liquid Illuminator - This product is such an easy way to get a bit of a shimmery highlight. It comes out as a liquid and you only need a tiny drop. The golden tint is perfect for darker skin tones.
7. Nyx HD Finishing Powder - I was going to invest in the Laura Mercier setting powder, but at £29 I thought I would look for a cheaper alternative first. I tried this out and so far I love it, it is translucent and you only need a small amount to keep your makeup in place without that grey ashy look. It stops me from getting oily but doesn't mask my makeup.
8. Maybelline Lash Sensation - This isn't a new product for me but it is a staple for my every day makeup, I love it. It makes my eyelashes thick and elongated instantly and it is really affordable.

Primark Manchester is one of the first UK stores to launch their new beauty bar, 'Love Beauty' and I have to say, I'm impressed. When it comes to my eyebrows it always seems to be a bit hit and miss to me, but I decided to get my eyebrows neatened up at this shiny new salon!
Dressed in Clinique style uniform, it is obvious that Primark aren't taking their branding lightly and the look and feel of the pop up salons doesn't reflect the price. (Check out the price list above!) I had my eyebrows shaped rather intensely, first threaded, then plucked and then followed by some trimming, I didn't think so much could be done with such little hair.
And voila, the result.

Since I am a bit of a product junkie, I am always watching youtube videos to find new products to fix all my makeup and hair woes. I have a very oily T zone, my nose in particular is so oily that I often avoid moisturising that area of my face. However underneath my eyes and the balls of my cheeks tends to be quite dry, so I have typical combination skin. It is really a pain when I want to wear full coverage foundation but don't want to risk it looking to shiny, thus I have always craved a matte look!
My most recent discovery is Milk of Magnesia (MoM). Many makeup addicts describe this as the best primer they have ever used as it lasts so long, keeps their face matte and works as a really good foundation base.
When I went to purchase it, I didn't realise that it is actually used for upset stomachs and indigestion, so I'm pretty sure that all the shops I went in to look for it, think I have some sort of issue!!
By the time I got to the final store I told the sales assistant that I want to use it as a primer as many people have suggested it and the final look always looked fabulous, she seemed shocked as it really is a DIY approach, I don't know how this was discovered but I really suggest to buy it.
I got mine in boots in the health/pharmacy section for £5, at first I thought it was quite expensive for what it was, but there is a lot in the bottle and the typical price for a primer can go up to a lot more than a fiver, with a lot less of the product.
I have used it for the first time today, and I have to say that my skin looks dewy and refreshed and has kept my makeup in place throughout the day, I could have probably added a bit more to my nose as some shine is still coming through, but MoM dries with a white chalky residue (on darker skin) and this put me off using more! The chalky residue can be covered right over just like any primer and makes no difference to the outcome of the final look so next time I go all out with my make-up (which will be New Years Eve)
Go and try it out and see for yourself, oh and always use the original, flavour the one that I've shown above.

Nearly every blogger has written about this trend. I was going to do your usual Polyvore style collage with suggested lipsticks BUT I know how much I hate to see a lipstick on a picture and then I try it or buy it in real life and it makes my lips look like rubber tyres.
So personally I like to see swatches or pictures of someone with a similar colour skin as mine wearing the lipstick they are suggesting. Therefore I thought let me not be a hypocrite ey, oh and I have enough dark red lipsticks for all my friends never mind just little o. I just realised whilst writing this that I have left a lipstick out but I really don't have the energy to take my pictures and edit them all over again now!! ah!
I prefer matte lipsticks, not just in winter but especially in winter because they add to that mysterious ' oh I'm so cold, yet so fabulous' look everyone likes to have going on. I don't think shiny red lipstick is nice whatsoever but in a darker tone such as revlon's grape (above) it can make a harsh face seem less harsh.
my top tip using the shades I'm showing you above, is to create your own ombre lip.
I don't know about you but I don't actually own a lipliner! so what I've found you can do, if you're an amateur like me is to use a darker shade such as Ruthless or another purple toned colour around the lip line and then fill with a similar dark shade but with a more reddish tone such as MAC Diva and then rub your lips together to make the contrast more blended and less harsh.
